Coats to Love Season after Season

My soul craves this time of year. I love layers, coats, beautiful and soft sweaters. I enjoy building my wardrobe the most during Fall and Winter. To complement this post, I like to choose fewer, better items, curated patterns and basic colors that are versatile and easy to mix and match.

Think of these as classics that build your outfit, pieces that will last year after year.

I separate my coats in basically two categories:

Let’s start with dress coats, those you wear when you want to feel powerful and strong. Cozy knits, merino, cashmere or wool pieces that can easily be dressed up or down. I go for the basic colors, a camel coat, a black one, and I like to include a coat with a pattern I love. You can never go wrong with those. I listed a few options from different price ranges below.

Now onto the functional coats. The ones that have a more sporty casual look, but are mostly for keeping you warm (in a fashionable way still). I am currently going through a phase of being absolutely obsessed with puffer jackets. It’s disappointing it doesn’t get too cold in San Francisco for me to justify over spending in these. They are chic, they look nice with both jeans for a casual look and also with leggings and sneakers. Getting a belted puffer coat and dress it up with boots also transforms the functional winter duvet-like outfit into something fashionable and trendy. I included items from different price ranges without compromising the quality.

Fewer, better pieces. Happy browsing!
