Cloud Iced Latte

IMG_3770.JPG

I love a good coffee break. The smell of coffee is a must for me, and specially when I get to make super delicious lattes at home. I have been loving oat milk lately. It foams perfectly, it’s super smooth and it’s honestly the closest to real milk. I’ve been using it for lattes, iced coffees with just a splash of oat milk, when I want a creamy oatmeal for breakfast, with granola, etc. It’s delicious.

The secret for this latte, however, is muscovado sugar. Now, it is still sugar, but unprocessed. If you are planning on cutting off sugars, then substitute it for Truvia. BUT! What makes muscovado so special on this latte recipe is the molasses flavor. It gives warmth and creaminess to the drink, perfect for a mid afternoon treat.

This recipe is super easy to make, you will need:

  • 1/2 cup of chilled black coffee (if you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, a espresso would be perfect here)

  • 1/2 tsp of Muscovado sugar

  • 1/2 cup of oat milk (or any milk of your preference as long as it froths)

  • Milk frother

Instructions:

  1. Make your coffee strong if you don’t have a espresso maker. I am not a big fan of the super strong flavor of espressos, so I made a regular black and added about half a spoon more of ground coffee. Wait for it to cool down.

  2. Once cold, dissolve the muscovado sugar in the coffee.

  3. In the meantime, froth the milk on cold. If you don’t have a milk frother that has the option, just grab the cold milk from the fridge and start whisking it. It will take longer to form the foam, but it will work. I highly recommend a wand frother, at least, to get the perfect effect.

  4. Grab a class, pour ice cubes, the cold coffee, and lastly the milk.

It’s like dessert. Perfect for those afternoon cravings.

Let me know what you think! As always, I am including all my essentials for this recipe below.

Thank you!
