Coconut Cold Brew

IMG-4458.jpg

This is for all my coffee lovers. I’ve been enjoying getting more creative with my coffee. Now that not a lot of the places I tend to frequently visit for coffee are open, I am making my own barista versions at home. Including cold brew.

It doesn’t taste like coconut at all, in case you are not a fan. But instead, accentuates all the flavors.

You will only need:

  • 2 tbsp of ground coffee

  • 1 cup of coconut water

  • Sugar (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Brew your coffee as you would normally do, but instead of using water you’ll use coconut water. I used a espresso maker, and brewed my coffee and waited for it to chill before transferring to a glass bottle and put it in the fridge.

Some notes to consider: These measurements make one cup. If you want to make more, double as best fits. I use medium blend ground coffee. Because the cold makes the flavors stronger, unless you prefer so, I would recommend staying away from darker blends as the toasty flavor may make the cold brew too bitter. I also used coconut water from the can, but you can use any pure coconut water you prefer. And lastly, sugar. I didn’t sweeten mine until the next day when I was ready to drink it. The thing is the cold will make all the flavor profiles stronger, including the sweetness, so what may seem sweet enough to you, may be too much the next day.

Super easy! I have also included a few coffee makers that are perfect for this recipe, and that you probably have at home already!

Thank you for reading!
