My Approach To Sales This Week

This time of the year feels a bit overwhelming for me. It’s like a time-crunch to wrap up the year, personal and work projects, getting ready for the holidays, gifts, travels, everything seems to be in a rush. Sales specially get crazy around this time, and the collective FOMO to go to every store and get anything just for the sake of taking advantage of discounts seems to take over.

But, as I’ve said before, quality over quantity

These past few years, specially the last two, my focus shifted to collecting pieces that will last longer in my wardrobe. Staples, timeless, made of natural fibers. I narrowed down the stores I go to, pay more attention to the feel of the item and how it is made, and the use it’ll have in my closet. It has helped me shop more responsibly and sustainably.

And the result is a curated collection of items I love and use

So when it comes to the sales happening this week, my approach is pretty simple. Generally speaking, when I am shopping I like to ask myself these questions, “How much use would I get out of it?”, “Do I need it?”, “Do I already have something similar in my closet?” and “Is it timeless? Would I still love this next year?”. It makes shopping a more mindful experience, and allows me to pivot to more unique high quality pieces to build into my wardrobe.

With that in mind, below are some noteworthy stores and brands with sales happening this week.

Mango, up to 50% off

Quince, recent favorite. Super soft and affordable cashmere. They are doing a Five Days of Deals

J.Crew, 50% off this week

Missoma, 30% off
